Tournament Rules 2019

  1. The Tournament is sanctioned by the BTBA, Sanction No TBC and the General Playing and Tournament Rules of both the BTBA and ETBF will govern this Tournament together with the following special rules.

  2. The Tournament Manager (Mrs Loraine Harding) reserves the right to accept, re-rate or reject any entry and their decision on all matters will be final subject to appeal to the B.T.B.A. Protests must be lodged with the Tournament Manager within 30 minutes and confirmed in writing prior to trophy presentation. A provisional ball must be rolled if a dispute relating to pin fall cannot be resolved immediately.

  3. The Tournament is open to all members of Youth Bowling Clubs, which are registered with National Associations that are affiliated to the British Tenpin Bowling Association or are members of their National Association. Competitors must be 25 years or younger on the 01/08/2019. Y-E-T ranking points will only be awarded to bowlers under the age of 25 years & younger on the 01/08/2019.

  4. Competitors will not be allowed to SMOKE (CIGARETTES, CIGARS, DRUGS, VAPES OR E-CIGARETTES) OR CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES or ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES in the centre during the Tournament. Any breach of this rule will result in the IMMEDIATE disqualification of the individual from the Tournament. Bad language, abuse of bowling equipment or machinery, or bringing the game into disrepute, may also result in disqualification by the Tournament Manager. Spectators and officials may only smoke outside the building in designated areas.

  5. Competitors who, in the opinion of the Tournament Manager are not dressed in a presentable manner (i.e. correct bowling attire in the playing area) will not be permitted to bowl. Shirts MUST bear the name of the YBC or individual. Sponsors (EXCLUDING ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS, POLITICAL ORGANISATIONS, ARMAMENTS, COMPANIES OR ANY OTHER BODIES LIKLEY TO CAUSE OFFENCE) names will be permitted on shirts. DENIM CLOTHING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. TAILORED SHORTS & SPORTS LEGGINGS MAY BE WORN. HEAD GARMENTS MAY ONLY BE WORN AT TOURNAMENT MANAGERS DESCRETION FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULST IN A FINE OF £10.00 AND IF NOT ADHEARED TO ON RE-ENTRY WILL RESULT IN THE PLAYER BEING REMOVED FROM THE FINALS PLUS YET POINTS NOT BEING AWARDED. Mobile phones, iPods and MP3 players must be switched off in the playing area once the squad as commenced.

  6. Only competitors, Tournament Officials and 1 Licensed Instructor/Coach per bowler will be allowed in the playing area BTBA rule 333 applies. Licensed Instructors/Coaches must be presentably dressed and must not wear denim. LICENSES MUST BE DISPLAYED AT ALL TIMES.

  7. Registration for all squads will be 30 minutes prior to bowling. Tardy players will commence play at the frame in progress as directed by the Tournament Manager.

  8. This tournament is sanctioned by the BTBA and the BTBA’s General Playing and Tournament Rules will govern this event.  BTBA Membership will be checked on the BTBA database which is accessible at btba.org.uk.  Members of other national governing bodies must prove membership status and non-members will be subject to £5 fine.

  9. There will be practice before the tournament starts at a designated time/day. Practice will not be permitted after the tournament has started, or between squads unless the overflow is used. Approved ball cleaners can be used in play. A list of approved cleaners will be on display. No changes to the surface of the balls can be made once practice is over for the squad.

  10. PHOTOGRAPHIC POLICY
    Please be aware before, during and after the event there could be filming, action photography or video taken of participants and medal winners by anyone attending the event, either as an official spectator, parent or guardian. If you (as a participant, parent or guardian) object to this, you must make your objections known to the tournament manager prior to the event starting and reasonable adjustments will be made.

  11. STRING MACHINE v FREE FALL AVERAGES                                                                                                                             

Following a decision by the BTBA Executive, Free Fall and String averages will both be accepted without differentiation for all handicap tournaments as from 1st August 2018.  BTBA members will therefore have the opportunity of competing in tournaments on both String and Free Fall.  Over 20% of all lanes in the UK are set to become String by the end of 2019.  They will be subject to the usual lane certification process.

Divisions

DIVISION A – Under 13
13 Years or younger on the 31/07/2019
DIVISION B – UNDER 16
15 Years or younger on the 01/08/2019
DIVISION C – UNDER 19
18 Years or younger on the 01/08/2019
DIVISION D – UNDER 25
24 Years or younger on the 01/08/2019

Qualifying

6 Games if there is a tie in qualification this will be decided by the person with the highest last game going through .

Qualifiers

Maximum of 8 will in all category’s go through to final step 1 (top 7 and 1 from the desparado – if no Desparado is played in any division the top 8 will qualify).

The number of qualified in each division is determined by the number of entries in the said division. if there are 15 or less bowlers in a division, 4 will qualify for the finals, if 16+, 8 will qualify for the finals. In all steps there will be matches consisting of the best of 3 games. Players will be seeded so the highest meets the lowest etc.

 

Final Step 1:

All qualified bowlers play up to four matches. Should a player win the first 2 games the 3rd game DOES NOT need to be played.
The Winners continue to final step 2.

Final Step 2:

Final Step 1 winners play 2 matches.
The winners continue to The Final.

Grand Final:

All winners from Final Step 2 go head to head in his or her category to determine the overall winner.

Bonuses

All Boys scores are scratch and girls receive 8 pins bonus the maximum game is a 300 including any bonus pins.

Desperado

A Desperado will immediately follow the last squad on Saturday 7th.

This will consist of 1 game and the lanes will not be re-dressed following the last squad.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR DIVISION ‘A’ AND CAN ONLY BE BOWLED IF A BOWLER HAS ALREADY COMPLETED A FULL SQUAD OF QUALIFYING.
Entries
Entries will be on a first come first served basis. It is advisable that the re-entry is booked and paid for at same time as the first entry.

All entries must be must include a £15.50 +process fee non-refundable deposit.

PROVISIONAL CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES – SATURDAY 24th August 2019

A SECOND RE-ENTRY MAY BE POSSIBLE ON THE DAY IF SPACES AVAILABLE ANY SECOND RE-ENTRY WILL NOT BE VALID FOR ANY YET RANKING POINTS.

      • Includes £2.00 Sanctioning fee, ETBF Contribution, Expenses, and minimum of £1 to the YET.

    • Re-entry £30.00 per bowler.

  • Divisions B C & D

    • Original entry £48.50 per bowler.

      • Includes min £15.00 prize fund (returned 100%)

      • £2.00 Sanctioning fee

    • Re-entry £38.00 per bowler.

      • Includes min £15.00 prize fund (returned 100%)

    • Desperado £12.00 per bowler.

  • All entries require a £15.50 +process fee non-refundable deposit, which must be paid online via credit or debit card.

No extra charge will be made for the final rounds.

Other Rules

Will all bowlers and supporters please note that you are at all times responsible for making sure your bowling equipment is not a hazard to any competitor, supporter or member of the public.

Bowltrack Integration

This tournament will be integrated with bowltrack, a new online management software designed by bowlers for bowlers. During the event, we will be utilising a number of features offered by the bowltrack software.
